Create The Life You Want Part 6: Apply The Law of Cause and Effect

by | Alignment & Flow, blog, Healthy Habits (Mind Body)

The Law of Cause and Effect says that every cause has a corresponding effect, and every effect is a cause that produces another corresponding effect.

The Kybalion states that nothing escapes the Law of Cause and Effect. There are neither accidents nor things left to chance. Chance is an excuse we use when exact causes are not recognized.

This post is the 6th in a seven-part series on how to Create The Life You Want by understanding and applying The 7 Natural Laws of the Universe.

This article focuses on the sixth law – The Law of Cause and Effect. Here are links to previous posts in this series:

Understanding The Law of Cause and Effect

Understanding the Law of Cause and Effect and using it to create the life you want is about being conscious of your thoughts and actions. You create your reality through your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Everything you create in life you create within you, not outside of you.

Elevate your thoughts, elevate your life.

Transform your thoughts, transform your world.

Think of it this way. If you’re in poor health – take a good hard look at the causes – poor eating choices, lack of exercise, lack of proper sleep, unhealthy thinking. You can’t expect to be healthy if the causes are the result of unhealthy thoughts, decisions, and actions you take. The universe doesn’t work that way.

The wrong causes create effects that build on top of each other and vice versa for the right causes. Cause and effect are like a chain reaction. If you understand the causes of your actions, you can choose the right actions to take and the consequences that follow. It’s a conscious or unconscious choice.

The Law of Cause and Effect Says Nothing You Experience in Life is Left to Chance

Everything that happens in your life happens for a reason. It’s about the causes that come from within you that create the effects in your life. What you create is a result of the causes you manifest from within.

Everything you produce has consequences, whether good or bad, positive or negative. You reap what you sow, and you can consciously or unconsciously choose what you think and feel daily.

Three Actions To Begin To Apply the Law of Cause & Effect Positively In Your Life

1. Take inventory of your thoughts.

Be mindful of moments throughout your day and reflect on what you’re thinking and feeling. If you’re always thinking negative thoughts and feeling dis-ease, you’re going to produce more of the same.

The same holds for lack of abundance and the focus on lack of money. If you’re continually coming from a state a lack, that’s what you’ll produce in your life. There have been times in my life, even though I made good money. I never felt like it was enough. I kept focusing on the lack rather than the abundance. Consequently, I continued to feel the lack.

The thoughts you generate repeatedly are the primary causes creating the effects in your life. Continue to repeat the causes, and you will repeat the effects. It’s that simple!

2. “Be the cause, not the effect.”

In other words, “be proactive – act or be acted upon.” You have a choice. You can choose to think the right thoughts and act accordingly to achieve the desired effect. As you take inventory of your thoughts, consider how you would flip things around and what actions you would choose to be more proactive.

You can find ways to break the cycle of unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors. Think of times in your life where you were highly successful. What was the nature of your thoughts, behaviors, and actions? They created a positive ripple effect creating more positive thoughts, behaviors, and actions.

For years, I had a good diet, but I fell out of a regular workout routine at the gym and regular meditation practice. I do these days now and, for the last several years, have only experienced the most positive effects in my life. I feel calmer and healthier. Sure, I still have some stress and anxiety in my life, but I feel so much better. I was proactive. I set the right causes in motion to achieve the right effects.

Become the cause to master your reality – and achieve the desired effect.

3. Think for yourself.

Refuse to be a part of the masses that are led by the few. You are the effect of what you think, do, and feel. If you let others influence you, then you give up the power within, totally focusing on finding power on the outer – which is not real power. It’s an illusion.

There was a time in my early life, where I allowed others to influence my thinking. I wasn’t even conscious of it at the time. One day I realized that I wasn’t living my life. I wasn’t thinking for myself. I was living in the image of others and their thoughts, beliefs, and values. It was a startling revelation as I had created a massive misalignment within me – losing sight of who I was. That was not healthy as it led to issues of self-worth and confidence, continually looking to others for approval and the answers.

As soon as I realized I wasn’t thinking for myself, I knew I had to start believing in me again, and my ability to think for myself. This led to behaviors and actions that created better effects in my life. I eventually became better grounded in my power and secure on all levels while gaining clarity on what I wanted in life.

Probably the most critical condition in the Law of Cause and Effect is to be clear on what you want. Once you’re clear on what you want in life, you can set the right causes in motion to achieve your desired effects.
